You’re ready to send a wire from Ally and want to know what it will cost, when it can leave and which bank details belong on the form. Work through those questions before opening the request so you have the recipient’s instructions and your budget together.
How much does an Ally Bank wire transfer cost?
Ally’s domestic wire request form lists a $20 wire fee. It also describes reimbursement within two business days when wiring from Ally Bank to your own Ally Invest account. That specific reimbursement concerns an internal Ally destination.
Ally’s transfer FAQs state that Ally charges $0 to receive a wire; sending or intermediary banks may have their own charges. These published details were checked October 31, 2026. Keep the bank’s charge separate from any fee charged by the business you’re paying.

| Budget item | Amount | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Requested wire amount | $2,000 | Match the amount in the recipient’s verified instructions |
| Published Ally outgoing bank fee | $20 | Confirm the charge shown for your request |
| Planning total for these two items | $2,020 | Reserve any separate recipient or intermediary charges as well |
If $2,000 is your entire available budget, ask how much you can send after the bank fee and any other known charges. If the recipient requires exactly $2,000, clarify how all charges will be collected before authorizing the wire.
What is Ally’s wire-transfer cutoff time?
The request form says wires received and verified before 3 p.m. ET on a business day process that day; requests received and verified after that time process the next business day. Plan around the verification step as well as the time you submit.
Ally’s transfer FAQs say wires are processed on business days, excluding weekends and bank holidays. They also list a $25,000 wire limit for the first 90 days after opening your first Ally Bank account, with an exception available to request. Review any applicable account limit before setting the payment amount.
Hypothetical timing example: you finish the form at 2:50 p.m. Eastern, but the bank still needs to confirm a detail. Ask whether verification was completed in time and which processing date applies. Give yourself time to answer a bank call or supply the missing information.
For a deadline-sensitive payment, ask the recipient what counts as received: arrival at its bank, credit to its account or completion of a separate review. The wire timing guide helps you organize those milestones.
How do you request a wire from Ally?
Ally’s transfer FAQs direct customers to its online wire form or the app path Menu → Transfer and Pay → Wire Money. Start from your signed-in Ally account. Its wire form also provides a paper-request option; use the current form and its submission instructions if you choose that route.
Have the recipient’s verified instruction sheet beside you. Compare the form field by field, especially when the recipient uses more than one bank. Our for-further-credit guide explains how the final recipient can differ from the first receiving institution.

| Field | Use this record | Resolve this question first |
|---|---|---|
| Account to pay from | Your selected Ally account | Is this the intended funding account? |
| Recipient name and account | The recipient’s current verified instructions | Do the name and full account number match? |
| Receiving bank and routing | The destination bank instructions | Which bank receives this wire? |
| Intermediary or FFC details | All pages of the recipient’s instruction sheet | Are a second bank, final account or reference required? |
| Amount and date | Your payment agreement and bank review | What amount and processing date are you authorizing? |
Which routing number is used for an incoming Ally wire?
Ally’s account-information page publishes 124003116 as its routing number. Its domestic receiving-wire instructions use that number with your Ally account number, account-holder name and address. Obtain the complete receiving instructions from Ally before sharing them with a sender.
To find your account number online, Ally says to select the account and choose Show next to Account Number. Use the full number from that account record through a trusted channel. Keep passwords, PINs and one-time codes private.
When you’re sending from Ally to a different bank, the recipient’s bank supplies the destination routing details. Read the label ‘receiving bank’ as the bank receiving that particular payment. This direction check helps you keep your funding account and the recipient’s account straight.
Can Ally send or receive international wires?
Ally’s wire agreement limits outgoing wires to domestic destinations. Its transfer FAQs provide a separate path for incoming international wires through JPMorgan Chase, followed by further-credit details for your Ally account.
For a payment arriving from overseas, give the sender Ally’s complete current international receiving instructions. Have the sender’s bank confirm each receiving-bank and final-account field together. The intermediary-bank guide explains why a payment can pass through one institution before reaching the intended account.
What should you do if a request is delayed or has an error?
Ally’s wire agreement describes a possible callback to confirm your request and says submitted instructions cannot be modified. It also says a payment order cannot be revoked or canceled once sent. Review the destination carefully before submission, and contact Ally immediately through its official support channel if you spot an error.
Keep a small record with the request date, amount, intended recipient and bank reference. Ask which stage needs attention: verification, sending or receipt at the destination. If the wire has left Ally, use the wire-tracking checklist to prepare the information the banks need.
A useful support message is: “I submitted a wire for [amount] on [date], reference [reference]. Please confirm its current stage and any action needed from me. Has the payment been sent? If so, which reference should the receiving bank use to trace it?” Explain an incorrect field immediately rather than submitting a replacement payment while the first is unresolved.
How should you prepare an Ally wire for a Bitcoin purchase?
Begin with the purchase provider’s reviewed request and the instructions issued for it. Use the wire-transfer buying guide to review request-specific instructions, service fees, the final quote and wallet delivery. Budget the bank wire fee separately from the purchase provider’s charges.
Fiat2Bitcoin’s public purchase service remains in launch preparation. Before any purchase wire, confirm the recipient, payment route and account details through the provider’s verified process. The instruction-verification checklist gives you a record to work through before authorizing the bank payment.
