PNC wire transfer routing number: which number should you use?

A generic bank connects through a brass routing selector to a recipient tray, with a blank check and globe beside it.

Short answer

PNC lists 043000096 as its routing number for incoming domestic wires. For incoming international wires, it lists SWIFT code PNCCUS33. You also need the receiving PNC account number. If you’re sending from PNC to another bank, use the recipient’s verified wire instructions for the destination.

Find the right bank identifier for your wire and keep the sender’s details separate from the recipient’s.

A search for a PNC routing number can lead to account details, check numbers and wire instructions. Start with the direction of the payment: are you receiving money into PNC, or sending it somewhere else? That determines whose bank details belong on the form.

What is PNC’s wire transfer routing number?

For a domestic wire arriving in a PNC account, PNC’s routing-number guide publishes 043000096. Give the sender the full receiving account number as well. These public bank identifiers were checked October 31, 2026; confirm the complete instructions with PNC before arranging a transfer.

Choose the details for the payment you’re arranging
Your situationBank identifierWhat else you need
Receiving a domestic wire at PNC043000096The receiving PNC account number and requested recipient details
Receiving an international wire at PNCSWIFT: PNCCUS33The receiving PNC account number and any additional instructions from PNC
Setting up ACH or direct depositThe routing number for your specific account and payment typeAccount details obtained through your bank’s verified process
Sending a wire from PNC to another bankThe recipient bank’s wire identifierThe recipient’s complete, verified wire instructions

PNC’s wire-transfer page provides the receiving details for domestic and international wires. A routing number identifies the bank; the account number identifies where the money should be credited.

Example: sending $2,000 from PNC to another bank

Suppose you keep your money at PNC and need to send a hypothetical $2,000 payment to a recipient who banks elsewhere. PNC is the sending bank. The destination fields come from the recipient’s instructions.

The recipient bank could be PNC or a different bank. Follow the instructions for that particular destination. If they include an FFC field, the for-further-credit guide explains how the final customer reference fits alongside the main receiving account.

Why does the number on my check look different?

PNC explains that routing details can vary with the account and transaction type. Its incoming-wire instructions use a dedicated wire number. For ACH, direct deposit or check-related questions, get the details for your particular account instead of choosing a number from a list of states.

For the account details, PNC’s app offers Account & Routing Numbers after you select the account. Online Banking offers View Account/Routing Number. Ask PNC to identify the number for the payment you intend to receive, especially if you’re changing an existing payment setup.

The ACH-versus-wire comparison explains the two payment routes. Use the route requested by the recipient so the bank sends the right kind of payment.

What is PNC’s SWIFT code for international wires?

PNC publishes PNCCUS33 for an international wire arriving in a PNC account. Its receiving guidance also asks for your PNC account number; the sender may need additional recipient information. Obtain the full instructions for the currency and account involved.

An international sending form can ask different questions from a domestic form. If you’re unsure which identifier it wants, ask the sending bank about that field using the recipient’s verified instruction sheet. Our ABA-versus-SWIFT guide explains the labels.

What should you check about PNC wire fees and timing?

PNC’s customer-service guidance says transfer fees vary by account type. Review your fee schedule and the final transfer screen for the charge on your payment. Ask how charges affect the amount leaving your account and the amount reaching the recipient.

A wire’s timing also depends on the route and processing stage. Ask for the expected sending and arrival dates for your transfer, including any cutoff or non-business-day delay. Keep the bank’s reference so you can trace it if the recipient has trouble locating the payment.

  • What is the full amount that will leave my account?
  • How much is expected to reach the recipient, and in which currency?
  • When will the bank process the wire?
  • Which reference can I use if I need the bank to investigate?

Which wire details matter when buying Bitcoin?

For a reviewed Bitcoin purchase, use the instructions issued for that request. Check the beneficiary, receiving bank, account, amount and payment reference together. If you’re paying from PNC, those destination details still come from the reviewed request.

The wire-transfer buying guide explains request review, instructions, service fees and wallet delivery. Keep the bank’s sending record alongside the purchase reference, then confirm receipt and the remaining purchase steps with the provider. Use the wire-tracking checklist to organize an inquiry.

Fiat2Bitcoin’s public purchase service remains in launch preparation. The bank information in this guide helps you understand PNC’s published instructions; request-specific purchase instructions are supplied through the reviewed process when the service is available.

What if I entered the wrong routing number?

Before submitting, stop and compare the whole form with the verified recipient instructions. Ask the bank to resolve any mismatch. Pay particular attention to a changed beneficiary, account number or payment reference.

If the wire was already submitted, contact the sending bank promptly through its official channel. Provide the transfer reference and explain the exact mistake. Ask about the available investigation or correction process, and keep the recipient informed through a known contact channel. Follow the original payment until its outcome is confirmed before arranging a replacement.

For a future payment, the instruction-verification checklist helps you review the bank details and recipient information together.
