Preparing for a large Bitcoin purchase by wire

For a larger purchase, preparation is part of the transaction. Decide what you want to spend, organize the information a review may require, and verify where the Bitcoin should go before money moves.

THE POINT TO KEEP IN MIND

Prepare first and fund only after reviewed, request-specific instructions. A fee tier is not a purchase approval or a promise that an amount will be accepted.

Set a dollar budget that includes the costs

Start with an amount you have independently decided you can afford. Keep a separate allowance for any bank or other disclosed charges. Bitcoin can lose value; completing a large purchase successfully does not make its market outcome predictable.

Fiat2Bitcoin’s wire service fee is 8% below $100,000, or 5% at or above that threshold, on the full amount of each request. For example, a $25,000 request has a $2,000 service fee, leaving $23,000 before other charges. This is an illustration, not a Bitcoin quote.

Organize the information for review

Have your intended amount, originating bank, source-of-funds explanation, and receiving Bitcoin destination ready. A review may require documents or clarification. Submit requested records through the verified process, and avoid sending unnecessary personal information in ordinary email.

The name and ownership information on the request should accurately reflect the person and account involved. If your situation does not fit the instructions, ask before funding. Do not divide or restructure a purchase to evade review or use another person’s account to overcome a restriction.

  • Intended USD request amount and budget for other charges.
  • Accurate originating-bank and account-ownership information.
  • A clear explanation and supporting records for the source of funds when requested.
  • A Bitcoin receiving address from a wallet you control.
  • Time to complete review, banking steps, and quote acceptance.

Prepare the receiving wallet deliberately

Open your wallet through its trusted app or device and select the intended Bitcoin network. Compare the full receiving address with the destination entered for the request. If you use a hardware device, follow its instructions for checking the address on the device.

Keep recovery information offline and private according to the wallet’s instructions. The receiving address is different from the seed phrase or private key; a purchase service does not need those secrets to send Bitcoin. If someone else supplied a wallet you do not control, pause and understand who can spend the funds.

Ask your bank about the sending process

Check your bank’s wire process, cutoffs, fees, and any requirements for the intended amount. Ask these questions before the day you hope to send. A bank appointment or approval requirement can affect your schedule independently of the receiving service.

Do not send until an employee has reviewed your Fiat2Bitcoin request and provided its specific instructions. Verify the beneficiary, account details, amount, and reference. Your bank’s confirmation should be retained as sending evidence, not treated as proof of Bitcoin delivery.

Leave time to review the final quote

Know when a quote must be accepted and what happens if it expires. Check the service fee, additional costs, exchange rate, Bitcoin amount, and destination together. The initial request amount does not establish an exchange-rate lock.

After acceptance and fulfillment, keep the completion record and verify the wallet receipt. Store the request, bank confirmation, accepted quote, and delivery information together. Each document explains a different stage of the same purchase.
