Bank fees checked October 19, 2026 against Chase’s public personal-account disclosures. This independent guide does not establish a Chase partnership or confirm that Chase will approve a particular Bitcoin-related transfer. Business accounts and other products can have different terms.
For the purchase process, use the wire-transfer Bitcoin pillar. Fiat2Bitcoin purchases remain unavailable during launch preparation. This page contains no receiving-bank instructions or approval to send funds.
How much is a Chase wire transfer fee?
The table summarizes Chase Total Checking’s published wire fees, checked on the date above. Confirm the charge and any account-specific benefit in Chase’s actual transfer review before authorizing a payment.
Scroll across the table to see all columns.
| Wire type | Channel or condition | Published Chase fee |
|---|---|---|
| Incoming, domestic or international | Standard incoming fee | $15; $0 if originally sent through a Chase banker, chase.com or Chase Mobile |
| Outgoing domestic | chase.com or Chase Mobile | $25 |
| Outgoing domestic | Banker-assisted | $35 |
| Outgoing international | Banker-assisted, USD or foreign currency | $50 |
| Outgoing international in USD | chase.com or Chase Mobile | $40 |
| Outgoing international in foreign currency | chase.com or Chase Mobile | $5; $0 when the amount is at least $5,000 USD equivalent |
Incoming is measured from the Chase account receiving the wire; outgoing is measured from the Chase account sending it. Do not add both fees automatically to one customer’s budget. Identify which account is yours and which charges you actually bear.
Why can the online and branch fees differ?
The domestic rows list different prices for online and banker-assisted sending. For a fictional comparison using those rows without an account benefit, the difference is $35 minus $25, or $10. That compares the bank’s sending channel, not the quality, approval or final outcome of a Bitcoin purchase.
Before comparing costs, confirm that both routes are actually available for the same account and intended transfer. A fee table is not a promise of a sending limit, recipient acceptance or a particular completion time. The wire timing guide explains why a bank payment and Bitcoin delivery have separate milestones.
Can Chase waive the wire transfer fee?
Account benefits can change the applicable charge. For example, Chase’s personal-account disclosure lists no Chase incoming or outgoing wire fee for Chase Private Client Checking, subject to its terms. That benefit does not remove a foreign-exchange spread. Use your own product disclosure; do not apply one account’s benefits to another.
Chase’s fees FAQ also notes that a bank-to-bank transfer may avoid outgoing domestic wire fees. That is an alternative payment route, not a universal wire-fee waiver. A recipient that requires a wire may not accept the alternative. Our ACH-versus-wire guide explains why the methods’ instructions are not interchangeable.
If you already qualify for a benefit, confirm that it applies to the proposed transfer. If you are considering changing accounts, assess the whole account’s requirements and costs rather than treating one avoided wire charge as the entire decision.
Does a $0 international wire fee mean no transfer cost?
A zero listed transfer fee is not the same as a zero-cost currency conversion. Chase’s personal-account disclosure says its foreign-exchange rate includes a spread; it also notes that financial institutions may deduct processing charges from wires. Compare the amount debited, the currency conversion and the amount expected to arrive.
For a purchase requiring U.S. dollars, do not choose a foreign-currency wire just because its displayed bank fee looks lower. Confirm the permitted currency and route for the specific purchase. The correct comparison is between eligible ways to fulfill the same instructions, not unrelated rows in a bank’s price table.
Where another institution is involved, use the intermediary-bank guide to identify the role and questions to ask. An intermediary is not automatically required on every wire.
Example: a bank fee and a Bitcoin purchase service fee
Imagine a fictional $5,000.00 Fiat2Bitcoin wire request and a separate $25.00 bank sending fee. This assumes the bank charges that fee in addition to the requested transfer, the full instructed amount arrives, and no other charges apply. It is an illustration of the published policy, not an available purchase or live quote.
Fiat2Bitcoin’s wire service fee uses the shared pricing policy: 8% below $100,000, or 5% at or above it, on the full amount of each request. Separate requests are not combined. The service fee is deducted from the request amount; it is not Chase’s sending fee.
Scroll across the table to see all columns.
| Budget line | Illustrative amount | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Wire request | $5,000.00 | The instructed purchase funding amount |
| Separate bank sending fee | $25.00 | Assumed additional bank-account debit |
| Total bank-account outlay | $5,025.00 | Request plus the assumed bank fee |
| Fiat2Bitcoin service fee | $400.00 | Deducted from the request amount |
| After service fee | $4,600.00 | Before other costs; not a BTC quantity or guaranteed quote |
Do not subtract the separately charged bank fee from the wire amount unless the verified instructions and bank’s actual fee treatment require that calculation. If a bank deducts a charge from the transfer instead, reconcile the amount that will arrive before proceeding. For the complete purchase cost, read the Bitcoin purchase-fee guide.
What should you check before sending a purchase wire?
Start with a reviewed purchase request and its current instructions. Confirm the sending account, permitted currency, recipient, required reference and amount. Then check the bank’s sending fee, whether it is additional or deducted, and any known receiving or intermediary charges.
Keep the bank confirmation and purchase reference together. A sending fee charged by the bank does not prove that the recipient received the required amount, that a Bitcoin price was accepted or that BTC was delivered. The wire-tracking guide helps match those records without treating one as a substitute for another.
Return to the wire purchase pillar for the full request-to-delivery sequence, and verify the request-specific wire instructions before funding. Ask about a discrepancy before sending a replacement or additional payment.
